The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music actively engages in multifaceted foreign cooperation. As the Academy meets all the EU standards relating to the education system, it has obtained the so-called Erasmus University Charter, authorising it to participate in the EU Erasmus scholarship programme. In the process of applying for the document, it submitted the Erasmus Policy Statement – a declaration of policy facilitating foreign interacademy exchange of students and academic teachers.
The first foreign Erasmus partner of the Wrocław Academy of Music was the Dutch music academy Hogeschool Enschede, with the current number of partner higher education institutions in 25 countries exceeding 70. The group also includes the higher education institutions with which the Academy has cooperated since the year 2004/2005 in the network ”New initiatives in professional music education in Central Europe” as part of the CEEPUS scholarship programme (Central European Exchange Program for University Studies). The Erasmus and CEEPUS programmes provide foreign scholarships for students and academic teachers, and the Academy receives foreign students and organises courses and lectures by academics from abroad. The Academy has not abandoned traditional cooperation forms based on bilateral partnership agreements signed with music academies from Saint Petersburg, Lviv, Munich, Plovdiv, Moscow and Minsk. Each year a students’ concert exchange is organised with cities located within our geographical region: Dresden, Weimar and Ostrava.
