Doctoral School
A. Education at the Doctoral School may be provided to foreigners on the basis of:
- international agreements, according to the rules set out in these agreements;
- agreements concluded with foreign entities by the Academy, in accordance with the rules laid down in those agreements;
- decisions of the minister responsible for science and higher education and the minister responsible for culture and national heritage;
- decisions of the Director of the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) with regard to its scholarship holders;
- the decision of the Director of the National Science Centre (NCN) on awarding funds for the implementation of basic research in the form of a research project, internship or scholarship, qualified for funding through a competition;
- an administrative decision of the Rector.
B. Only a foreigner whose level of linguistic proficiency in the Polish language makes it possible to undertake education in that language may apply for full and regular (3-year) admission to the Doctoral School.
C. Foreigners are subject to the same principles of enrolment at the Doctoral School as Polish nationals.
Deadline for submission of documents (both paper and electronic via the Verbis system) to the Teaching and Student Affairs Department) - 8 September 2025 (inclusive).
Please log on to the recruitment system https://amw.dziekanat.verbis.pl/amw-irk-app/ledge/view/irk.pub.Page#/ and first complete the documentation electronically. The system works in Polish. Then print (from the system) the paper version, sign it and attach all the required documents. The candidate submits them in person or by post to Dział Nauczania i Spraw Studenckich, pl. Jana Pawła II nr 2 50-043 Wrocław, room 006A (8:00-15:00).
Deadlines for the qualification procedure:
- (a) Stage I (general evaluation - without participation of the Candidates) - 17 September 2025.
- (b) Stage II (interview and assessment of humanistic competence) - 18 September 2025.
- (c) Stage III (artistic or scientific presentation) - 19 September 2025.
In the case of candidates who are foreigners, enrolment on the list of doctoral students takes place on the basis of an administrative decision issued by the Rector.

D. In case of possession of a diploma of completion of studies abroad or a certificate of completion of such studies confirming, in accordance with the provisions of the Act, the possession in the Republic of Poland of an education at the level of second-cycle studies or uniform master's studies or recognised as equivalent to a Polish diploma of completion of second-cycle studies or uniform master's studies and a professional title of magister, master of arts or another equivalent entitling the candidate to apply for admission to a doctoral school or for conferring a doctoral degree in the Republic of Poland, such documents should additionally bear an apostille or a legalisation clause and a translation into Polish certified by a sworn translator. In the remaining cases, the candidate is additionally obliged to submit a certificate of recognition, through the nostrification procedure, of the equivalence of the diploma with the relevant Polish degree and professional title. Other documents resented in a language other than Polish should be accompanied by an ordinary translation into Polish, with the exception of posters, concert diplomas and programmes.
