The mission of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław
The mission of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław is to serve both the public and art by contributing to the development of artistic concepts, research and development activities in the field of music, and by ensuring top-quality education to music students who, by benefiting from the wealth of global achievements in music and fostering respect for native cultural values, will be able to attain the highest level of development of their own potential as artists, leaders and citizens of both their homeland and the world.
This mission will be accomplished through the pursuit of the following objectives:
The Academy will play an active role in shaping the future art of music by setting the directions for modern curricula and by supporting its students in various activities related to the popularisation of art.
The Academy will influence the public by providing wider access to its own activities, resources and achievements, and by substantially contributing to the debate on the role of music in the contemporary world.
The Academy will continue to raise its own educational and artistic standards by responding to evolving trends in the world of art and transitions taking place within the global musician community.
The Academy will be open to any new stylistic orientations in the field of music, and will inspire others to deal with these issues more actively.
The Academy will draw on the opinions expressed by young musicians and put into practice their postulates regarding easier access to the labour market and the ability to cope in the environment of contemporary music audiences.
The Academy will seek to attract and engage in its activities most talented artists, performers, creators, theorists and educators.
The Academy will continue to invite and hire prominent academic teachers in all disciplines, providing them with an opportunity to function in the academic environment as effectively as possible, and to participate in the artistic and educational life of its community.
The Academy will create an educational environment fostering the artistic, intellectual and personal development of its students, both as artists and citizens, helping them become leaders in their profession.
The Academy will be committed to further diversifying its community by promoting attitudes fostering the development of an open-minded, helpful and friendly environment for all.
