dr Katarzyna Turek (Ruda)

Music therapist, musician, master of arts. Graduated from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław (Composition and Theory of Music, specialization: Music Therapy) and the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Katowice (Instrumental studies, specialization: Oboe). On 2014 defended doctoral dissertation on “Music Therapy and the heart rate variability and selected psychological factors in adolescents treated for cancer” at the Faculty of Physiotherapy of the University of Physical Education in Wrocław. Currently holds a position of Research Assistant at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw and a music therapy consultant at Day Care Center "Na Ciepłej" MOPS in Wroclaw working with dementia patients.
Dr Katarzyna Turek is the author and co-author of scientific publications in the field of music therapy, oncology, psychogeriatrics and neurodegenerative diseases. Cooperates with centers working for the promotion of therapy through art and actively participates in programs supporting people affected by various diseases.
