The first edition of the Course was held from July 17-30, 1981, under the artistic direction of Professor Jerzy Mrozik, who was the initiator and originator of the Course, as the then Chairman of the Wrocław Branch of the Society of Polish Musicians (SPAM) and at the same time Head of the Department of Wind Instruments, Percussion and Accordion at The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, and later Rector of the Academy. The event continues to this day to enjoy great recognition and popularity among pupils, students and teachers, and is an important point on the map of Polish art education.

A novelty in the 41st edition of the Course is the formation of a Brass Band from the Participants, which was very popular and received enthusiastically by the Participants. The Brass Band's work will culminate in a performance at the Final Concert. Traditionally, during the Course, the Participants honed their musical skills under the guidance of excellent professionals, masters of their specialty - recognized university teachers, not only during individual lessons, but also during chamber ensemble and brass band classes. Each day there were Concerts with the Participants with the participation of excellent pianists-accompanists in the prestigious venue of the Chopin Manor in Duszniki-Zdrój.
