Graduated in theory of music (1977) and symphonic conducting (1988, the class of Assistant Professor Renard Czajkowski) from the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where she also completed a course at the Vocal and Instrumental Ensemble Conducting Centre and at the Teacher Training Centre. At the Felix Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, she finished Postgraduate Studies in Choir Conducting with honours. In 1977 she started working at the State Higher Music Schools (currently the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music) in Wrocław. In February 1992 she was awarded a doctoral degree by the Faculty of Composition, Theory, Music Education and Eurhythmics, and on 22 January 1997 – a post-doctoral degree (habilitation) in vocal and vocal-an-instrumental ensemble conducting. In 2009 she received the title of Professor in Music Art.
In the years 2002–2008 she held the post of Deputy Dean and in 2008–2012 of Dean of the Faculty of Music Education. Since 2012 she has been Deputy Rector for Teaching and Student Affairs. From 1997 to 2012 she acted as the head of the Chair of Music Education. Since 2012 she has been the head of the Chair of Choir and Ensemble Conducting, and since 1991 – the artistic head of the String Orchestra of the Faculty of Music Education at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, with which she gave numerous concerts performing instrumental and vocal-and-instrumental works and cooperating with all the choirs of the Academy of Music, and with other Wrocław choirs as well. She also teaches conducting, score reading, conducts master’s and bachelor’s degree seminars, and engages in intense organisational and research activity. From 1999 to 2012 she was the organisational and scholarly head of a series of music introduction programmes for Wrocław’s school children of 4–6 grades, and from May 2003 to June 2012 the artistic head of music introduction concerts for children of 1–3 grades. She participates in many scholarly conferences and is an author of publications.
During her studies, in 1975, she took up an additional job as the artistic head of the Jedliniok Song and Dance Ensemble at the Academy of Agriculture in Wrocław. She was associated with the amateur movement until 2017, working first with the Ślężanie Song and dance Ensemble and then the Wrocław Song and Dance Ensemble. In the years 1989–2017 she was the musical head of the Kalina Song and Dance Ensemble at the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław, with which she gave performances in Poland and abroad, participating in many International Folklore Festivals (in China, Egypt, France Spain, Korea, Germany, Romania, among others) and in the International Cultural Forum in Mexico.
In the years 1990–1991 she headed the Children Opera Stage at the Impart Art Centre. She also co-operated with the ‘Singing Wrocław’ and ‘Singing Poland’ projects.
She has been a reviewer and supervisor of doctoral and post-doctoral dissertations and a reviewer of the procedure for awarding the title of professor. She sits on juries of choral competitions and has been repeatedly granted Rector’s Awards. For her outstanding achievements in the field of education, she was awarded the Medal of the National Education Commission, the Golden Cross of Merit, the Badge for Merit to Culture, the Medal for ‘Merits to the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław’ and the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
