The Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wroclaw is pleased to announce the latest CD release, featuring our pedagogues entitled Here I Am!, presenting selected songs by Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937). The album was released by DUX RECORDING PRODUCERS, with Dr. Przemysław Jarosz taking care of the recording direction, editing and mastering. The recordings will feature Agnieszka Rehlis (mezzo-soprano), Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk (soprano) and Prof. Magdalena Blum (piano).

Here I Am!

“I am!” This despairing cry that opens one of Karol Szymanowski's early songs sounds like a manifesto. “I am!” It undoubtedly is. One of the most outstanding Polish composers, called “second after Chopin”, author of masterpieces permanently inscribed in the musical culture of Poland and the world. And at the same time - an indefatigable creator of songs, which he composed throughout his life; thus, his entire life is contained in these 134 lyrical miniatures. A life incredibly rich, varied, confusing. And that's what makes it so intriguing. Who is Szymanowski? - asks Jan Bielak in the opening text, in which he introduces listeners to the successive stages of the composer's life and the connections to the creation of each of the recorded songs. We encourage you to listen to the album to trace with the performers the artist's developmental path unfolding from song to song.
