National InterConference “Musica Tertii Millenii”
The Institute of Composition of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław cordially invites you to participate in the National InterConference “Musica Tertii Millenii”, which will be held on April 9-10, 2025 at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław. The event will become an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas on music of the third millennium and a platform for presenting new directions and trends in music of the 21st century. The passing of the quarter-century in a symbolic way also makes us reflect on recent achievements in art and allows us to look at them from a different, new perspective.
“Musica Tertii Millenii” is an attempt to break the convention of a traditional scientific conference, with a suggestion to move away from typical papers to non-standard forms of expression. Speeches may include original ways of presenting one's own or other artists' work, experimental forms of speech are welcome, including those that engage the audience, and even performances of an artistic provocation or performance nature.
Proposed topic areas:
- New genes in contemporary art
- Art in the age of AI
- Identity of the composer in the modern world
- Between intuition and rationality
- Parallel currents of reality
- Loops of mutual inspiration
- Creative prophetism vs. scientific reality
- “What is music?"(continuation of the dialogue between Dahlhaus and Eggebrecht).
- New relations between creator and performer
- Contemporary music for young listeners
Active participation in the InterConference (speeches) is addressed primarily to composers, multimedia creators, artists seeking new forms of expression; performers, music theorists, musicologists, humanists, sociologists; all those interested in music creation after 2000.
Submissions should be accompanied by an abstract in Polish (up to 300 words) and a biographical note (up to 150 words). The speech should last about 20 minutes. The entry fee for active participation is PLN 300.
Participation of passive participants is free of charge. Active participants are provided with lunches on April 9-10, 2025. The organizers do not provide accommodation.
The deadline for applications for active participation is February 9, 2025.
