Open Call for Young Female Artists: "Resistance. The Cracking Silence Through the Body"

The Katarzyna Kozyra Foundation is currently accepting applications for the nationwide open call "Resistance. The Cracking Silence Through the Body", aimed at young female and non-binary artists working outside of Poland’s major metropolitan areas. The initiative supports emerging voices in visual and performance art, and offers the opportunity to debut on the Warsaw art scene.
This year’s edition is organized in collaboration with Galeria Turnus, where the selected works will be presented. The programme includes an exhibition, performances, and discussion panels focused on the theme of the body as a tool of resistance, communication, and presence.
Who can apply?
- The call is addressed to women and individuals identifying as women who:
- are under 30 years of age,
- live and work in Polish towns and cities with fewer than 500,000 residents,
- have not yet debuted in Warsaw,
- are Polish nationals or members of national minorities living in Poland.
- Applicants must not reside or work in Warsaw, Kraków, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Poznań, or Łódź.
Timeline:
- Stage I (20 May – 20 June 2025): open call for submissions
- Stage II (July): 20 artists selected for portfolio consultations
- Stage III (July): 2 finalists chosen to participate in the project
- Stage IV (July–October): production of selected works
- Stage V (October/November): final exhibition and performance in Warsaw

- Promotion of the selected artists’ work
- An honorarium and production budget
- The opportunity to join the Secondary Archive, an international digital archive of female artists from Central and Eastern Europe

- artistic portfolio (PDF, up to 10 works, max. 10 MB),
- short artistic bio and CV (max. 2 pages),
- project proposal (max. 1,500 characters).
